Central Catholic High School (Lawrence, MA) is working with an outside agency partnership (EduBoston and New Oriental) that will assist us in bringing qualified international students to Central Catholic. On June 29, Dave DeFillippo ’66 is departing for China to serve as the CCHS ambassador and to select a small number of students to study at Central Catholic this fall. Follow his journey here.

Beijing, China - Day 1

After a total of 18 hours in flight, and a stop-over in San Francisco, CCHS and I arrived in Beijing, China at 3:00 PM Wednesday. The trip covered over 9,200 miles crossing the international date line. China is 12 hours ahead of eastern time zone. A welcome dinner of traditional chinese cusisine was sponsored by New Oriental Consulting Group. our Chinese partners who are hosting the international student fairs in which CCHS will take part. Five high schools are participating in this China international student endeavor: Central Catholic, Xaverian Brothers HS (Westwood, MA), Holy Name HS (Worcester,MA), Sacred Heart HS (Kingston, MA) and Bishop Connolly HS (RI). Tomorrow, the schools will meet with the leadership of New Oriental to become fully aquainted with each other and discuss the workings of our international student partnerhip. After the meetings, we will tour Beijing, most notably the Forbidden City and Tiennemen Square.

    Wonderful to hear that you and the CCHS contingent safely arrived in China. I will continue to pray for you folks. A quick reminder, don't drink the water. :-)
